Some HICSS statistics

My last post is more than one month ago. Our sunshine Charlotte has kept us busy and of course I am back in the office with countless tasks. This year's HICSS was amazing as always and I was even more busy than in the last years (two co-authored papers, a one-day minitrack, and member of a panel discussion). I had good times particularly with Dirk (my roommate), Oli, Murray and his family, and Dave. However, I was homesick as expected and therefore I rescheduled my flight back so that I started my trip back home on the first day after HICSS. In the meantime, I have submitted a minitrack proposal again. Some statistics about HICSS:

  • 825 registered attendees at HICSS-40
  • 55% acceptance rate for the overall conference
  • 47% acceptance rate for the KMS track
  • KMS track is the 4th largest track
  • HICSS is the 2nd most cited conference in the IS community
  • HICSS-41 and HICSS-42 (2008-2009) will take place at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island
  • HICSS-43 and HICSS-44 (2010-2011) will take place on Kauai

I hope to write about our cute Charlotte very soon.
